Gaels honour seniors, finish atop OUA East with home playoff game next Saturday

KINGSTON, Ont (February 22, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels (15-3) got past  the RMC Paladins (2-16) with a straight set 3-0 win on Friday night at the ARC. The Gaels finish atop the OUA East and will host a playoff match next Saturday.

SENIORS NIGHT
Prior to the match, the Gaels honoured their graduating seniors Dylan Hunt and Adam Boljkovac in a special presentation. GAME FLOW
The Gaels controlled much of the play in the opening set opening up a 17-8 lead off a kill from Dylan Hunt. RMC was able to take five of the next seven points but the Gaels stayed the course and an ace from Adam Boljkovac sealed the Gaels win 25-17.

After RMC stayed with Queen's through to a 9-7 lead, the Gaels took over and grabbed eight of the next nine points to lead 15-10. RMC kept things close but Zac Hutcheson finished off the second set with a kill 25-21.

The Gaels quickly got in front of RMC in the third set with a four-point run, and a pair of three-point runs leading them into the technical timeout ahead 16-10. RMC was once again able to battle back and make a game of things but in the end, the Gaels were too much and a block sealed the set and the match 25-22 and 3-0.
