KINGSTON, Ont. (November 9, 2019) - The No. 6 Queen's Gaels (5-1) relied on a second half comeback to defeat the No. 2 Ottawa Gee-Gees (3-1)  81-75 at home.

GAME FLOW
Coming off of a win over the Carleton Ravens,  Gaels burst onto to court with Julia Chadwick scoring her first three points of the night. Early on the Gee-Gees ran into foul trouble which gave the Gaels the opportunity to show their accurate free throw shooting. Ottawa had gained and held the lead for the majority of the first quarter until a late offensive push from the Gaels brought them within four points as Ottawa led 26-22 at the end of the first quarter.

After the Ravens went on a run to take a big lead, Gaels multi-sport athlete, Sophie de Goede made a solo drive to cut the Gaels the Gee-Gees lead to just 10 points with less than two minutes remaining in the half.. Emma Ritcey closed out the first half with a point off a foul to make the score 46-37 in favor of Ottawa.

The second half started off with a clinical performance from both Emma Ritcey and Emma Weltz as they converted back-to-back threes. The Gee-Gees struggled to respond and Laura Donovan continued the Gaels comeback hitting a three in the final seconds of the third quarter to lead the Ottawa 62-61.
