KINGSTON, Ont. The Queens Gaels (2-3) fell against the University of Toronto's Varsity Blues (3-0) in four sets in Toronto on Saturday night.
GAME FLOW
The first set was strong offensively for the Gaels, as Queen's had 12 kills, however, the Blues peristent defense proved to be the difference as the Blues won 25-20.
Gaels solid defense paid off in the second set, with the Gaels leading 12 digs to Toronto's eight saw the Gaels take the second set 25-17. A speedy set on defense kept the Gaels busy on the court, but ultimately, the Blues took the third set with a close 25-23 lead.
The four set was neck and neck, with eight kills for both the Gaels and the Blues. However, the Blues were able to pull ahead 25-21 despite strong efforts of defense from Gaels libero
