Gaels fall 3-0 against Toronto

KINGSTON, Ont. (November 8, 2019) The Queen's Gaels (4-6) fell 3-0 against the Toronto Varsity Blues (8-2) at the Memorial Centre on Friday night. 

GAME FLOW
The Gaels opened the first period on the attack in search of an opening goal but came up against a tough goaltender in Toronto's Alex Bishop.

After a scoreless first period that saw both teams trade quality chances, Toronto forward Oliver Benwell opened the scoring with a goal early in the second period. The Blues continued to push forward offensively battling hard against Queen's defence and found the back of the net again as Kyle Potts scored to but Toronto up 2-0

Queen's pounded Bishop with eight shots in the second period and 15 shots in the final frame but were unable to beat the Toronto netminder. Bishop made 36 saves to earn his first shutout of the season. 

Brendan Bornstein sealed the 3-0 victory for Toronto with a goal at the start of the third period.
