Margo wins it in overtime to defeat UQTR 4-3

KINGSTON, Ont. (November 16th, 2019) – Gaels (5-8-0) triumph in Quebec defeating the UQTR Patriotes (9-3-0) 4-3 in overtime.

GAME FLOW

Coming into Saturday's match up against the UQTR Patriotes, the Gaels had lost their last 5 games and were hungry for a win.

During the opening period, Jared Bethune would score his fourth goal of the year and the Gaels first of the night giving the Gaels a 1-0 lead. However at the end of the period, UQTR would get onto the board making it 1-1 heading into the first intermission.

Ryan Cranford would put the Gaels ahead once again during the second period with UQTR answering with their second once again to level the score in a 2-2 tie going into the second intermission.

The third period would mirror the first two as the Gaels would take the lead once again with Eric Margo sneaking one past UTQR's netminder on a Gaels power play. However, the lead would not hold as UQTR responded with a goal of their own late in the third sending the game into seven minutes of 3-on-3 action in overtime.

Eric Margo proved to be the hero on the night, as the Gaels forward would score the overtime game-winner and his second of the night to snap the Gaels five-game losing streak and give them their fifth win of the season.
