KINGSTON, Ont. (November 15th, 2019) – Queen's (4-8-0) unable to complete the comeback Saturday night in Quebec against the UQTR Patriotes (9-2-0).
GAME FLOW
The opening period began with the Patriotes taking the lead 1-0 over the Gaels. Queens wouldn't take long to respond with Matthew Hotchkiss tying things up 1-1 with Ryan Cranford giving the assist.
Following 20 minutes, UQTR would lead 14-10 in shots and 2-1 however there was still 40 more minutes of hockey left Friday night.
Following a competitive first period, Queens would tie things up once again as Luke Edwards and Alex Row would set up Eric Margo for the Gaels second goal of the game and his first of the year.
UQTR would score midway through the second period giving the Pats a one goal lead for the second time of the night 3-2 going into the final period.
Queen's defense couldn't keep up with the Patrotes offense as UQTR would score two unanswered goals to end the Gaels comeback chances 5-2.
BY THE NUMBERS
14 – Hotchkiss tied things up in the first period.
20 – Mango would tie things up for the second time of the night keeping the Gaels comeback chances alive.
