Gaels fall 92-63 to Ottawa

KINGSTON, Ont. (November 9, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels (3-3 fell 92-63 to No. 3 Ottawa Gee-Gees (4-0) on Saturday night. 

GAME FLOW
Immediately following tip-off, Queen's took possession of the ball but it was Ottawa who scored the first points. Using his height to his advantage, the six-foot-nine Henry Van Herk secured an offensive rebound and scored the Gaels opening basketball. Queen's Landon Brickenden came off the bench to score four points and shorten the Gee-Gees lead to just three points. The first quarter closed with Queen's trailing  Ottawa 21-17. 

Harry Range opened the second quarter with a hard cut past the Gee-Gees defence to score two points. On the following possession, Luka Syllas forced a turnover then quickly switched gears to score for the Gaels. Ottawa continued to hold their advantage by draining consecutive three-pointers. Ottawa pulled away from the Gaels to close the half leading 44-26. 

The Gee-Gees carried the momentum throughout the second half, outscoring the Gaels 25-21 in the third quarter. Harry Range led all Gaels with 12 points and Luka Syllas chipped in with 10 points. 

Ottawa's Kevin Civil proved to be too much for the Gaels to handle scoring 30 points to lead the Gee-Gees to a 92-63 victory over the Queen's Gaels.
