Christie Gray earns hat-trick as Gaels roll past the Ridgebacks

OSHAWA, Ont. (October 6th, 2019) The Queen's Gaels (9-0-2) defeated the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks (3-6-2) 5-1 on Sunday afternoon in Oshawa. 

GAME FLOW

The Gaels women's team began the day by scoring early and often against the Ridgebacks defense. Christie Gray opened the match with a goal in the first minute, while Ontario Tech quickly responded levelling the match at 1-1 with a goal in the 10th minute. 
 
Eight minutes later, Jamie Foot would score the second goal for the Gaels, followed by Jenna Matsubuko who found the back of the net in the 21st minute to give Queen's a 3-1 lead. Gray scored again in the 43rd minute as the Gaels led Ontario Tech 4-1 heading into halftime.

Late in the second half, Gray found the back of the net again to earn a hat-trick as the Gaels completed a convincing 5-1 victory over the Ridgebacks. Cecilia Way and Christie Gray lead the Gaels attack this season with nine and eight goals respectively. Gray currently sits second in the OUA in points with 13.
