Toronto, Ont. (October 26, 2019) - The Queens Gaels (2-0-2-0) drop a close contest 3-1 on the road against the York Lions (3-0-1-0).

The York Lions got off to a hot start as Courtney Gardiner took a pass from Taylor Davidson and slotted it past Makenzy Arsenault just 30 seconds into the game to take a 1-0 lead
Queen's responded before the first period would expire as Gaels leading goalscorer Quinn Johnston scored to level the score at 1-1.
The game would remain tied throughout the eight minutes of the second period as both sides battled to take the lead. York ultimately broke through as Kelsey McHolm scored an unassisted goal to give the Lions a 2-1 lead.
Queen's spent the third period attempting to draw even but York's tough defense kept the Gaels at bay. After Queen's pulled Arsenault for an extra attacker, Courtney Gardiner found open Avery Reeves in front of the empty goal for a tap-in to seal York's 3-1 victory over the Gaels.
