Quinn Johnston continues hot start as Gaels defeat Laurier 1-0

KINGSTON, Ont. (November, 1st, 2019) The Queen's Gaels (3-2) defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks (0-5) 1-0 at Memorial Centre on Friday night.

After a scoreless first period, Quinn Johnston scored the lone goal of the game on a play assisted by Taylor Hicks and Emma McKnight. The game was a defensive battle as both goaltenders stood tall in net. Makenzy Arsenault earned a shutout with a 23 save performance for Queen's and opposing Laurier netminder Cohen Myers stopped 28 of 29 shots.

Despite outshooting Laurier in every period after the first, the Gaels were unable to find the back of the net again and Johnston's goal was all the Gaels would need to earn their third victory of the season.
