St. Catharines, Ont. (October 25, 2019) The Queens Gaels (2-0-1-0) defeated the Brock Badgers (1-0-2-0) 4-3 in the shootout to capture their second-straight victory this season.
GAME FLOW
Brock scored first to tak an early lead, finding the back of the net just north of the five-minute mark in the first period. The Gaels retaliated soon after as Gaels defenceman
Devon Greenough scored with 5:35 remaining in the first period.
Hannah De Coutere scored as well to put the Gaels ahead 2-1 at the end of the first period.
Brock tied things up at the beginning of the second period, eventually pushing forward and taking over the game in the third period with a late goal. Only a few seconds later,
Kaylie Dennis scored to tie the game at 3-3 with just over a minute remaining in regulation and sent the game into overtime.
The Gaels and the Badgers were neck and neck in overtime but neither team could score a game winner.
Makenzy Arsenault was the deciding factor in the shootout, shutting out the Badgers to secure the Gaels 4-3 victory over the Brock.
