KINGSTON, Ont - (October, 19th, 2019) The Queen's Gaels (1-1-0-0) earn their first victory of the season as they defeat the Ryerson Rams (1-1-0-0) 2-1 at the Memorial Centre on Saturday night.

GAME FLOW
First-year Gaels forward Sydney Wilson would earn her first goal of the season early in the first period to give Queens a 1-0 lead over the Rams.

Ryerson didn't seem to have any answers for Queen's offense, as the Gaels controlled the the puck for much of the first period. Queen's killed off a late Rams power play to remain up 1-0 heading into the first intermission.

The second period saw the Gaels get their second power play of the night at the eight minute mark and Nicole Posesorski capitalized finding the back of the net to give the Gaels a 2-0 lead over the visiting Rams.

The Rams would find themselves with another five on four advantage which saw forward Quinn Johnston block a shot late in the Rams second power play to keep Ryerson at bay.

The Gaels defense was on display throughout the final period as the Rams searched to level the scored. Rams defenceman Keelin Farren would cut the Gaels lead in half with 9:51 left in the third period, however the 2-1 lead for the Gaels would remain intact until the final buzzer sounded as Queen's earned their first  win of the season.
