KINGSTON (October 9th, 2019) - The No.9 Queen's Gaels (2-2-0) earned a 5-0 victory over the Concordia Stingers (1-2-0) at Memorial Centre on Friday night.
GAME FLOW
After a steady back and forth flow for a majority of the first period, Jaden Lindo broke the deadlock flipping a backhanded rebound past Marc-Antoine Turcotte with 2:40 remaining in the period.
Lindo opened the second period, in the exact same manner in which he closed out the first, quickly beating Turcotte just 21 seconds into the frame to give the Gaels a 2-0 advantage. The game tightened throughout the period as both teams launched several chances on net. The Gaels narrowly edged the Stingers 10-8 in shots by the end of the second period.
The Gaels opened the third period hungry to get another goal and Stephen Gibson delivered just that blasting a point shot past Turcotte just 46 seconds into the final frame to push the lead to 3-0. A few minutes later, Ryan Cranford also found the back of the net after a Gaels power play expired to give Queen's a 4-0 advantage.
