th, 2019) The Queen's Gaels (2-3-0) lose 3-0 on the road against the York Lions (2-3-0) on Saturday night.
York opened the scoring with a pair of goals late in the first period. Xavier Poullot scored on a play assisted by Scott Feser and Braydon Buziak. Buziak followed it up scoring a powerplay goal a minute later, Nic Coric and Brendan Browne registered assists on the goal.Â
The Gaels tested Lions goaltender Mack Shields early and often but were just unable to find the back of the net. Shields made 37 saves to earn his first shutout of the season.Â
With 2:30 left in the third period, the Gaels pulled Richardson for an extra attacker in search of a goal. York's defence, however, held strong and Jeremy Lucchini scored an empty net goal in the final minute of play to seal a 3-0 victory for the Lions over Queen's.Â
