KINGSTON, Ont. (January 26, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels (9-3) were victorious in four sets against the Toronto Varsity Blues (8-5). The scores of each set were 25-17, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-22.

This Saturday marked the Gaels annual Bell Let's Talk games as women's and men's volleyball, women's and men's basketball and men's hockey hosted special Mental Health Awareness themed events throughout the day.

GAME FLOW
The Queen's Gaels played a strong offensive first set, taking an early lead and running with it. Kills by
Zac Hutcheson,
Dylan Hunt and
Adam Boljkovac extended the Queen's lead and put them in a good position to win the set.
Malcolm Prentice made a sharp tip over the Toronto block to lengthen the Gaels lead.
Joel Rudd ended the first set with a kill for the Gaels, making the final score 25-17.
The Gaels started the second set much slower but ramped up their offensive play halfway through. Kills by
Zane Grossinger and Hutcheson allowed the Gaels to tie the set and overtake the Varsity Blues. Queen's and Toronto played point-for-point, but the Varsity Blues eventually took the lead. Boljkovac made a strong tip for a Queen's point, closing the gap that Toronto created. The Gaels battled to stay in the game but unfortunately lost the set with a score of 25-22.
The Gaels struggled to retake their momentum in the third set but eventually took a slight lead halfway through the frame. The Gaels found gaps in the Toronto defence and capitalized on kills made by Hunt, Hutcheson and Boljkovac. Queen's managed to maintain their lead throughout the third set and ultimately took the win with a score of 25-18.
In the fourth set of the game, the Gaels and the Varsity Blues tossed the lead back and forth. Queen's struggled to limit their errors but capitalized on the kills that they attempted. Toronto also racked up several errors, giving the Gaels the advantage nearing the end of the set. Toronto tied the set at 22-22, but the Gaels overtook the Varsity blues and won the set and the game off an attack error made by Toronto.
