KINGSTON, Ont. – (September 15, 2018) The Queen's Gaels took down the RMC Paladins 3-0 in the first matchup of two this weekend.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels had a strong start to their games as in the 8th minute Erin Cliffe (Burlington, Ont.) scored an unassisted goal to give the Gaels a 1-0 lead. The Tricolour maintained their defensive strength throughout the rest of the first half as they went into the half still up 1-0.
In the second half, Queen's brought up their intensity as Jenny Wolever (Toronto, Ont.) scored the second goal in the 63rd minute. It was Wolever's team-leading fifth goal of the season. In the 79thminute, Alexandra Doane (Brookside, N.S.) scored her fourth goal of the year, giving the Gaels a 3-0 edge.
Queen's goaltenders Anna Stephenson (Vancouver, B.C.) and Alanna Richardson (Glencoe, Ont.) combined for the clean sheet.
BY THE NUMBERS
1 – Anna Stephenson made the lone save of the game for the Gaels as their defensive core prevented any opportunities on their net.
