POZNAN, Pol. - Three Queen's rowers recently competed and represented Canada at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Poznan, Poland.

Alex Bernst (Ottawa, Ont.), won the lightweight men's double C final with Vlad Timinsky (Kingston Rowing Club) to finish 13
th overall. Louise Munro (Ottawa, Ont.) placed 5th in the women's quad A final and Gavin Stone (Brampton, Ont.) placed 5
th in the men's eight A final.

Alex Bernst finished with a time of 7:00:00 winning his lightweight men's double C final, less than one second quicker than the 2
nd place Hungarians. However, his time placed him 13
th overall in what was Bernst's international rowing debut.

Louise Munro finished 5
th in the women's quadruple sculls A final with a time of 6:53.53. Just over two seconds behind 4
th place Germany.

Gavin Stone and his men's eight team finished 5
th in the A final with a time of 5:27.99. It was a stellar outing for the team who had to survive through repechage in order to qualify for the final.
