KINGSTON, Ont. - Queen's football head coach
Pat Sheahan is pleased to announce the addition of former Gael and Canadian Football League (CFL) defensive end
Shomari Williams to the Tri-colour coaching staff as the program's first full-time Assistant Coach, Recruiting.
Williams, a defensive standout with the Gaels 2009 Vanier Cup Championship team, finished the championships season fourth in U SPORTS in tackles, led the Gaels in sacks, was named Queen's Athlete of the Week twice, named the MVP of the Mitchell Bowl in which the Gaels defeated top-ranked Laval 33-30. Williams was drafted first overall in the 2010 CFL draft by the Saskatchewan Roughriders, he played one season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats before being traded back to Saskatchewan. Prior to Queen's he attended the University of Houston where he graduated with a degree in business and entrepreneurship and played for the NCAA Division 1 Cougars. While in university Williams founded Top Prospects, a web based business that assists high school athletes in obtaining athletic scholarships. To date, he has helped over 700 high school athletes earn numerous scholarships.

Sheahan and the entire staff welcome back a former Gael and accomplished football athlete to join the ranks coaching at Queen's,

The Queen's football Gaels begin their season with a home exhibition game against Waterloo on August 18 with kick-off set for 4:00pm at Richardson Stadium.
