KINGSTON, Ont. (February 3, 2018) - The No.7 Queen's Gaels (13-3-3-3) saw their three-game shutout and win streaks snapped in a 4-1 loss to the Waterloo Warriors (8-3-9-0) on Saturday.
It was senior night for the Gaels as the graduating class was honoured prior to puck drop. The Gaels being recognized Saturday were
Claire Warren,
Amber Sealey,
Emily Gervais,
Micaela Smith,
Clare McKellar and
Jessica Wakefield.

Getting the start in net for Queen's was veteran
Claire Warren (Halifax) who played the first 11:18 turning aside the only shot she faced.
Stephanie Pascal (Sudbury, Ont.) checked into the game for the Gaels from there, but Waterloo couldn't muster any more than the lone shot compared to five for the Gaels as the period closed scoreless.
In the second frame, the Gaels shutout streak came to a close. At the 10:19 mark a puck that looked to have been kicked in was credited to Jenna Hewitt-Kenda of Waterloo. The Gaels shutout streak ran across five games spanning 191 minutes and 46 seconds. The Warriors added another goal late in the frame and took a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.
In the third period, Waterloo once again was able to beat Pascal, the reigning U SPORTS female athlete of the week, as Tegan Odland scored a 4:34. The Gaels were finally able to break through and beat Warrior netminder Stephanie Sluys as
Emily Gervais (Kamloops, b.C.) notched the first Queen's goal.
Waterloo tallied an empty-netter to seal the win however 4-1.
