Gaels clicking offensively in 3-1 win over UOIT

OSHAWA, Ont. (November 3, 2018) – The No.10 Queen's Gaels (5-2-0-0) were victorious on Saturday afternoon as they grabbed a 3-1 win over the UOIT Ridgebacks (2-4-0-1).

GAME FLOW
The Gaels held control of the opening period in a commanding way. They outshot the Ridgebacks 15-3 in the first frame, yet despite this they were held off the scoreboard as UOIT goaltender Briar Hughes made all 15 saves.

In the second period, the Ridgebacks played with more intensity as they kept pace with the Gaels and once again kept them off the scoreboard. The Gaels were able to kill off two huge penalty kills in the period, which prevented the Ridgebacks from gaining any momentum.

The third is where the Gaels were finally able to strike as just 53 seconds in Quinn Johnston found the net for the first time on the season. Johnston has had many opportunities to score so far this season, but finally on Saturday she converted for her first ever goal as a Gael.

The goal sparked the momentum for the Gaels as three minutes later Nicole Posesorski scored her second of the season.

Later, Katrina Manoukarakis capitalized for her team leading fifth goal of the season, which sealed the win for the Gaels.

ARSENAULT OUTSTANDING AGAIN
In the final moments of the game UOIT's Chelsea Ball beat Arsenault to snap what would've been her third consecutive shutout. Ever since she allowed three goals in a loss to Western, Arsenault has been unstoppable.

She's given up just two goals in her last four games which has propelled the Gaels to four consecutive wins.

BY THE NUMBERS
27 – Arsenault made another 27 saves as she shined once again.
42 – Gaels put 42 shots on net on Saturday as they heavily outplayed the Ridgebacks in the offensive end.
6 – With the goal, Manoukarakis now has points in six of seven games to start the season.
