Gaels play tough defensively in shutout win over Laurier

WATERLOO, Ont. (November 23, 2018) – The No.10 Queen's Gaels (8-4-0-0) won a tight 1-0 matchup against the Laurier Golden Hawks (2-6-1-1).

GAME FLOW
Despite the Golden Hawks record entering Friday's meeting, they played the Gaels hard and were well within striking distance for the entirety of the game.

The Gaels opened the scoring in the first period as Addi Halladay scored her fifth goal of the season. After having a chance in front of the goal, Halladay scooped up the loose puck and sent a wrister on net. The puck somehow found its way through multiple Golden Hawk defenders and past goaltender Cohen Myers.

Fortunately for the Gaels, that would be the only goal they would need on the night as their defence kept the Golden Hawks from any serious scoring opportunities.

ARSENAULT FLAWLESS AGAIN
Makenzy Arsenault got the start on Friday night and picked up her third shutout of the season. She only faced 24 shots but made every save that she needed to, with her offence struggling to find the back of the net.

BY THE NUMBERS
24 – The 24 saves is the most Arsenault has had to make in a shutout performance this season.
2 – Halladay scores for the second consecutive game, which is the second time she's done that this season. It was also her second straight game-winning goal.

MUST-SEE MOMENT
Addi Halladay finds a way to score the eventual game-winning goal.
