Gaels edge Laurentian 2-1 to snap two-game losing streak

SUDBURY, Ont. (November 17, 2018) – The Queen's Gaels (7-4-0-0) won an afternoon matchup 2-1 against the Laurentian Voyageurs (3-4-1-2) to snap their two-game losing streak.

GAME FLOW
The Gaels opened the scoring early in the first as Kaylie Dennis scooped up a loose puck in the offensive zone. On the breakaway opportunity, she made a nifty play on her forehand to give the Gaels the opening goal of the game.

In the second period, the Gaels ramped up their pressure sending another 16 shots on nets. Addi Halladay buried her fourth goal of the season as she crossed into the slot and wired a wrister to the back of the net.

The Gaels' stifled the Voyageurs' offensive attack limiting them to just seven shots in the period.

In the third period, the Voyageurs were finally able to get one past Stephanie Pascal as Madison Heeney wristed a quick shot by the Gaels' goaltender to cut the lead to 2-1.
