KINGSTON, Ont. (November 17, 2018) – The No.7 Queen's Gaels (10-3-0) were victorious in a 7-2 routing of the Nipissing Lakers (3-9-0).
GAME FLOW
The Gaels got to scoring early in the first as
Mason Kohn continued his hot streak. He found a puck in front of the net and managed to score off his knees to give the Gaels the opening advantage.
Later in the period,
Slater Doggett scored off a wrister that found the top right-hand corner of the net. Both Kohn's and Doggett's goals kept them temporarily tied for the team lead with eight on the season.
The Lakers were able to get a goal back at the late part of the period as Erik Robichaud buried a rebound on the powerplay.
The second period was completely controlled by the Gaels as they outscored the Lakers 2-0 in the frame.
The first goal was scored on a deflection in front of the Lakers' net.
Graeme Brown's shot was tipped by
Luke Edwards for his second goal of the season.
Then
Alex Row took a pass from
Slater Doggett and buried it to give the Gaels a 4-1 lead after two periods.
In the third, the Gaels would tack on three more goals.
Jared Bethune netted his first goal as a Gael, which was then followed by
Mason Kohn's second of the game bring his team lead to nine goals.
Lastly,
Liam Dunda buried his fourth of the year as the Gaels would close out the game with a 7-2 win.
