NORTH BAY, Ont. (November 16, 2018) - The Queen's Gaels (6-4-0-0) visited the Nipissing Lakers (3-3-4-0) for a special school day 11 am start but fell 2-1 to the Lakers.
GAME FLOW
With a full crowd in attendance, the two teams were locked into a defensive battle early on. 
Stephanie Pascal got the start for Queen's and dueled with Danika Ranger in net for the Lakers. Pascal turned aside all eight shots she faced in the opening period but Patrick surrendered a late goal to give the Gaels the lead.
Abby Lafreniere was able to pick up a rebound off of a point shot from 
Taylor Hicks to give the Gaels a power-play goal and 1-0 lead after the first period. 
After Nipissing tied the game up at 1-1 in the second, the Lakers were able to beat Pascal again in the third. Brianna Gaffney buried her second of the season past Pascal to put Nipissing up 2-1 midway through the final period.
Queen's looked for an equalizer with an empty net but were unable to even the game falling 2-1.
