Varsity Club Weekend Recap - Women's lacrosse continues undefeated season

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The Gaels kept their undefeated streak alive this past weekend as they secured first place in the East division.

On Saturday morning in Oshawa, the Gaels had their first matchup of the day against the Toronto Varsity Blues. They picked up the 11-2 win which was led by Annie Lloyd who had two goals and two assists in the blowout win.

Later that afternoon, the Gaels tied 13-13 with Trent. It was their first tie of the season as they bring their overall record to 10-0-1.

The Gaels will have one more weekend of action left in their regular season before the OUA playoffs get underway on Friday, October 19 from Peterborough. But first, the Gaels will head back to Oshawa next weekend for meetings with the Laurier Golden Hawks and Guelph Gryphons on Sunday.

GOLF
The men's and women's golf teams were not in action this past weekend however they are preparing for the upcoming OUA Championship. After both the men's and women's teams picked up OUA silver medals last year, the Gaels will be looking to bring home their first OUA golf banner since the men's championship team of 1997.

The tournament will get underway on Sunday, October 14 until Tuesday, October 16 and is hosted by McMaster University.

WOMEN'S FASTPITCH
The women's Fastpitch team finished their regular season at the end of September with a 11-4-1 record and since then have been training for the OIWFA Championships.

The Gaels will begin their double-elimination bracket play on Saturday, October 13 when they take on the Brock Badgers at 9am.
