Wrestling
The Queen's Varsity Wrestling team kicked off the 2018-2019 season with a bang, with both of the Gaels' competing athletes bringing home medals.

The first event was held on Sunday, October 28 at Concordia University in Montreal, QC.

Michael Tremblay wrestled hard for silver in the 82kg division, while Karly Kudrinko fought her way to bronze in 59kg.

Men's Lacrosse
The men's lacrosse team wrapped up their regular season at Miklas-McCarney Field this past weekend.

On Saturday, the Gaels fell to the undefeated McGill Redmen 9-1 with the Queen's lone goal scored by Angus Rawding.

Then on Sunday, the Gaels rebounded with a high-scoring 14-11 win over the Nipissing Lakers. Luca Dannetta led the way with five goals and an assist, meanwhile Kyle Aylesworth had four goals and an assist of his own.

With the win, the Gaels clinched a 6-4 record and home-field advantage in their first playoff game against Nipissing next weekend. The winner will advance to the Bagattaway Cup.

Field Hockey
The Queens' Gaels field hockey team played this weekend in a blustery Waterloo for their OUA Championships; the end of their season. On day 1, the fourth-ranked Gaels took to the pitch against the home team, the fifth-ranked Waterloo Warriors, for the quarter-finals. Despite end-to-end action, the Gaels lost to the Warriors in a nail-biting 1-0 game.

The following day, the Gaels faced off against the McMaster Mauraders. The Gaels came out flying, scoring two goals in the opening three minutes of the game. The final score was a convincing 9-0, with goals from Becca Gray, Cassidy Grimes, Izzy Mastantuono (2), Aley Greig (2), Ciara Morrison, Abrie 'Abrahamo' Girgis, and Nicole Gaul.

On the final day of the championships, the Gaels played for 5th place in their final game of the season, versing longtime rivals, the Western Mustangs. With a cohesive and determined team, the Gaels came away with a 3-0 victory. Scoring for the Gaels was Becca Gray, Izzy Mastantuono and Mairead Corrigan.

The Gaels ended their season finishing 5th in the OUA league, and wish to thank and gratefully send off our 5 graduating players: Amanda Thoo, Clara Gatien, Sophie Bombara, Ciara Morrison, and Abrie 'Abrahamo' Girgis.
