WATERLOO, Ont. (October 26, 2018) - Behind a pair of goals from captain
Spencer Abraham (2-1—3) the No.6 Queen's Gaels (5-1-0) defeated the Waterloo Warriors (1-4-2) 6-2 on Friday in OUA men's hockey action.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels captain Abraham got things started with a rush from his own end into the Warriors zone where he fired a wrist shot into the Warrior net giving the Gaels a 1-0 lead. The two teams traded goals from there and the Gaels lead 2-1 after the opening frame.
After a scoreless second period, the offence and penalties added up in the third period. Abraham scored his second of the night on a power play but the Warriors were quick to respond with a goal on
Justin Fazio.
From there the Gaels tallied another three third period goals as
Graeme Brown,
Liam Dunda and
Duncan Campbell all helped pad the Queen's lead ensuring a victory over Waterloo 6-2.
CHASING QUEEN'S HISTORY
Spencer Abraham continues to close in on the Gaels all-time points record for a defenceman in a career. He currently sits at 103 after a pair of goals and an assist and needs just 13 more this season to catch Aaron Fransen who finished with 116 career points as a Gael.
