KINGSTON, Ont. (September 24, 2017) - The Queen's (3-3-2) men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with the Trent Excalibur (2-4-3) on Sunday afternoon at Richardson Stadium.
GAME FLOW
Coming off a late game tie to the UOIT Ridgebacks the Gaels entered Sunday hoping to pick up a full three points against Trent.
Things got off to a good start for the Gaels as 
Kyle Owens (Whitby, Ont.) fed a pass through to 
Andrew Kim (Mississauga, Ont.) who buried his shot to put the Gaels out in front 1-0.
The Excalibur caught a break late in the opening half as they were awarded a penalty kick and Aaron Chia scored to tie the game up at 1-1.
The Gaels re-took the lead in the second half thanks to a penalty kick of their own and 
Jacob Schroeter (Ottawa) stepped up and scored to put Queen's in front 2-1.
The game saw it's third penalty kick however as Chia stepped up and scored for the Excalibur again. This tied the game up at 2-2 despite Trent not having any shots on goal other than their two penalty kicks.
Neither side was able to score in the final minutes and the two teams ended in a 2-2 tie.
