ST. CATHARINES, Ont. (February 25, 2017) - The Queen's Gaels (10-9) finished off the regular season at Brock (5-14) 3-1 thanks to a 27 kill performance from
Caroline Livingston.
GAME FLOW
Despite finishing with an attack percentage of just 0.146 compared to the 0.314 put up by Brock, the Gaels were able to push the Badgers past 25 points in the opening set. In the end Brock was able to hang on and take a 27-25 win to lead 1-0.
From there the Gaels stepped up their game, committing just eight errors across the final three sets. Queen's took set wins of 25-22, 27-25 and 25-16 to close out a win against the Badgers.
The Gaels were led by Livingston who, after setting a career high in kills last weekend at 25, topped that mark finishing with 27 at Brock. She also added 13 digs to lead the Gaels. Â
Sierra Hardy (Oakville, Ont.) aided Livingston all night finishing with 46 assists.Â
Isabelle Korchinski (Anmore, B.C.) added a double-double of her own in the victory with 11 kills and 11 digs.
Queen's finishes in third place in the OUA East thanks to an extensive tie-break over York. The Gaels will meet Western to open the OUA playoffs who lost their final regular season game to the same York team Queen's defeated 3-2 last weekend.
