Gaels serve their way past RMC with 21 aces

KINGSTON, Ont. (January 21, 2017) - The Queen's Gaels (5-6) took their rematch with the RMC Paladins (0-11)  3-0 on Saturday afternoon at RMC. The Gaels won the game with scores of the sets finishing at 25-4, 25-9 and 25-18 for the Gaels. 

GAME FLOW
In the first two sets, the Gaels had 11 kills per set dominating the court with kill percentages of 0.500 and 0.423.  The first and second games finished with scores of 25-4 and 25-9 for the Gaels. 

The third set brought tougher competition from the Paladins but the Gaels were still able to come away with a 25-18 win to take the match. The Paladins had a kill percentage of 0.055 throughout the match while the Gaels were strong on the attack coming in at 0.514.

The Gaels were led by strong serving throughout the match. Sierra Hardy (Oakville, Ont.), Danielle Corrigan (North Vancouver, B.C.), Caroline Livingston (Kelowna, B.C.) and Isabelle Birchall (Ottawa) led the way with six, five, four and three aces respectively. 

On the afternoon Queen's totaled 21 aces to just three for the Paladins.

The Gaels (5-6) and the Ryerson Rams (7-3) will face off in Toronto at the Goldring Centre on January 27.  The game begins at 6pm and can be seen live on OUA.tv.
