KINGSTON, Ont. (September 7, 2016) - In a rematch of last year's upset, Queen's (0-1) heads to Guelph this weekend for a 1pm matchup with the No.10 ranked Gryphons (1-1) on Saturday.
In October of 2015, the Gaels topped a No.5 ranked Gryphons team 23-15 at Richardson Stadium and set a new Gaels record on a 108-yard touchdown reception from
Nate Hobbs (Mississauga, Ont.) to
Matteo Del Brocco (Leamington, Ont.).
This season, the Gaels enter Saturday's game coming off an early bye week after falling 37-18 to Laurier in their season opener. Queen's found success when
Chris Osei-Kusi (Brampton, Ont.) was involved in the offence, as the wide receiver made four catches on a 76 yard drive that set up the first tricolour touchdown of the season.
Jonah Pataki (Wallaceburg, Ont.) was the Gael who first broke the plane, followed by a receiving score from Hobbs to Del Brocco later in the game. Rookie kicker
Nick Liberatore (Dartmouth, N.S.) was the only other Gael on the scoresheet, hitting one field goal, two extra points, and a rouge.
