No.7 Gaels shutout Laurentian

KINGSTON, Ont. (September 4, 2016) - Head coach Dave McDowell picked up his 300th career win for the Gaels through regular season and playoffs on Sunday afternoon in a 2-0 win over Laurentian Voyageurs on Miklas-McCarney Field.

Just before halftime, the Gaels broke the deadlock when Sarah Nixon (Oakville, Ont.) drove down the right wing and hit the far post with a cross, bouncing straight to Tara Bartram (Vancouver) who finished in the open net.

After the Gaels controlled much of the second half, Jenny Wolever (Toronto) doubled the tricolour lead in the 85th minute, beating the Laurentian keeper with a strike from the top of the 18 yard box.
