Gaels suffer loss to undefeated No.3 Ryerson

KINGSTON, Ont. (September 24, 2016) - On Think Pink Saturday, the Gaels (4-2-1) were defeated 4-0 by No.3 Ryerson Rams (7-0) on Miklas-McCarney Field.

This Saturday was "Think Pink" day in support of breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer affects millions of people and together we can make a future without breast cancer possible. Fans are encouraged to help varsity athletes and men's rugby reach their fundraising goals by donating online to the Varsity Athlete CIBC Run For The Cure page or the Men's rugby page. 
 
GAME FLOW
The Rams were strong throughout the contest, opening the scoring in the 8th minute with an unassisted goal from Raheem Rose. Ryerson scored a second goal in the 45th minute on a penalty kick by Adam Hemati, to take a 2-0 lead at the end of the half.
 
Despite the Geals efforts, the Rams increased the lead to 4-0 in the second half. Luka Lee scored in the 51st minute, with an assist credited to Nick Lambis. Hemati scored his second goal of the game in the 62nd minute to round out the scoring.
 
Queen's had five shots on goal, but were kept off the scoreboard by Ryerson goalkeeper Praveen Ahilan.
