KINGSTON, Ont. (February 13, 2016) – The Gaels (10-7) pulled off a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-14) win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees (10-7) this Saturday afternoon at the Queen's ARC in Kingston.

GAME FLOW
Ottawa started off their night in the power seat with three straight points to give them the early lead. The Gaels answered and managed to knock off four consecutive points to get within one of their competitors before losing them again and forcing head coach Michael Ling to call the first timeout of the match. Ottawa began to lose their advantage as the Gaels shrunk the deficit and pulled into a 16-15 lead by the technical timeout. The Gaels kept ahead and finished off the set with a back court kill from Neville taking it 25-19.

The hosts put the first points on the board in the second and took off from there, hitting an eight point run to lead the Gee-Gees 16-9 at the technical break. As the set continued Ottawa began to get some momentum started and came to within four points of the Gaels. Queen's didn't slow despite the increased Gee-Gee pressure pushed through the last points of the 25-18 set to go ahead 2-0 in the match.

The Gaels continued to dominate in the final frame as they reached double digits before the Gee-Gees could reach five points. With a 0.237 efficiency over the 0.024 efficiency of Ottawa, the Gaels easily met the technical in the lead for the third time in a row, this time ahead 16-9. The Gee-Gees kept their energy high but couldn't catch the Gaels who rounded out their 3-0 win with the 25-14 set.

FINAL SAY?
"Ottawa was ahead of us in the rankings and if you're talking about history they've had our number over the most recent years. That win was a great motivation for us and gives us a lot of energy to make the final push towards playoffs. Who knows what will happen. If we can win against a great team like Ottawa that really bodes well for our confidence." – Michael Ling, Head Coach
