WINDSOR, Ont. (November 2, 2016) – The Queen's Gaels (6-2-1) never trailed as they defeated the Windsor Lancers (5-4-0) by a score of 4-3 on the road Saturday night.

GAME FLOW
The Queen's Gaels came out hard in the first period, out-shooting the Lancers 21-12. Ten minutes in,
Alex Stothart (Ottawa, Ont.) opened the scoring for the Gaels.
Eric Margo (North Vancouver, B.C.) picked up the assist. Six minutes later,
Ryan Bloom (Calgary, Alta.) doubled the Gaels lead to make it 2-0.
Spencer Abraham (Campbellville, Ont.) and
Slater Doggett (Oakville, Ont.) assisted on the play.

In the second period, the Lancers responded. Kyle Hope scored for Windsor, with Chadd Bauman and Sebastian Beauregard assisting on the play. This cut the Gaels lead to 2-1. Shortly after the halfway mark in the period, the Gaels were able to capitalize on a power-play chance.
Warren Steele (Williamsburg, Ont.) scored for the Gaels, with Doggett and
Eric Ming (Williamstown, Ont.) assisting to restore Queen's two goal lead at 3-1. The Lancers were able to cut the Gaels lead to 3-2, after Steve Anthony scored before the end of the period.Â

In the third, Windsor tied the game in the first minute to bring the teams level for the first time since they were scoreless. Justice Dundas scored with Chad Shepley and Scott Prier assisting for the home team. The Gaels were able to respond with a goal in the third minute. Ming scored with Dogget and Bloom assisting to put Queen's ahead for good. The tricolour survived some late pressure from the Lancers to take the 4-3 victory.
