GAME FLOW
Waterloo hung around through the first few minutes of Saturday's contest, keeping pace with the strong Gaels team early.
Emily Hazlett (Fredericton) helped Queen's jump in front in the first quarter, stealing the ball off a Warriors inbounds pass and went the distance to score. The leading scorer for the tricolour this season,
Marianne Alarie (Sudbury, Ont.) then took over the game, scoring eight of her game-high 17 points in the opening frame to put the Gaels up 28-15 after the first quarter.

The second quarter saw more solid play from Queen's, highlighted by a well-executed inbounds play where
Bridget Mulholland (Kingston, Ont.) cut to the basket and finished the layup, despite being fouled. The Gaels almost doubled up the visitors at halftime, leading 43-22 at the break.

Waterloo had another strong start to the second half, reaching the 30 point mark in the first couple minutes. Midway through the third, the teams traded three pointers after Mulholland scored from beyond the arc for Queen's, but Amy Jarvis responded immediately for the Warriors. The Gaels continued to increase their lead in the latter half of the quarter, with
Veronika Lavergne (Kingston, Ont.) stepping up with a huge block before getting a pass over the top and scoring a layup to give the tricolour their first 30 point lead of the game.

Queen's started the final frame up 70-40, and the Gaels kept the 30 point buffer for the last 10 minutes of the game. The tricolour got balanced scoring in the fourth quarter, as all 12 players on the Gaels roster saw the court.

Getting to the double-digit mark for Queen's Alarie with 17, Hazlett with 11, and
Andrea Priamo (Guelph, Ont.) and Mulholland both with 10. Lavergne finished just shy of a double-double with nine rebounds and nine points.
