KINGSTON, Ont. (November 12, 2016) - The Queen's Gaels (4-0-6-0) were defeated 4-3 by the Ryerson Rams (2-1-3-2) on Saturday afternoon at the Memorial Centre.

GAME FLOW
The Gaels had the momentum in the first period, netting two goals to take a 2-0 lead. In the second minute,
Addi Halladay (North Augusta, Ont.) scored on a well-placed wrist shot.
Nadia Larocca (Mississauga, Ont.) assisted on the play. In the second half of the period,
Emily Jukosky (Stirling, Ont.) gave the Gaels a 2-0 lead on a snapshot goal for her first of the game.
Katrina Manoukarakis (Scarborough, Ont.) and Halladay picked up the assists.

In the second period, Ryerson responded with back-to-back goals to tie the game 2-2. In the eighth minute, Blair Malthaner scored her first of the day for the Rams. Danelle Im and Victoria Chapman assisted on the play. Nearing the end of the period, Malthaner scored her second goal of the period on a breakaway top-shelf shot, with Alex Rodriguez assisting. The score remained 2-2 at the end of the period.Â

In the third, the game was back and forth, with both teams getting chances. Five minutes in, the Gaels took a 3-2 lead. On a 5-on-3 powerplay, Halladay made a beautiful cross-crease pass to setup Jukosky for her second goal of the game. The Rams responded two minutes later. Malthaner completed the hat-trick on a top-shelf slapshot, after receiving a drop pass from Im, tying the game 3-3. Several minutes later, Kryshanda Green scored for the Rams on a quick turnaround snapshot. Karli Nummikoski assisted on the goal. This proved to be the last goal of the game, allowing the Rams to take a 4-3 victory.
