Toronto, Ont. (October 9, 2016) - With her third multi-point game of the season,
Brittany Almeida (Kingston, Ont.) helped Queen's (8-3-1) top the Toronto Varsity Blues (5-7-1).
GAME FLOW
The Gaels and Varsity blues played a defensive struggle through the first 45 minutes. Neither team managed a corner kick in the first half, but they combined for six fouls.
Queen's won the game with an offensive explosion that spanned 16 minutes in the second half. Almeida cracked the deadlock in the 56th minute on an unassisted goal for the Gaels off a corner.
Rachel Radu (Ottawa) doubled the tricolour lead 10 minutes later, before Almeida netted her second of the game in the 72nd minute.
Lauren Winquist (London, Ont.) provided the assist on Almeida's second goal.
