Queen's doubles up No.10 Toronto on the road

Toronto, Ont. (October, 9, 2016) – The Gaels (5-4-3) snapped a six game winning streak for the No.10 Varsity Blues (9-2-2) with a 4-2 victory in Toronto on Thanksgiving Sunday.
 
GAME FLOW
The first half of the game was a back-and-forth contest, with only a couple chances for both teams. Queen's broke the deadlock when Tonko Bacelic (Mississauga, Ont.) scored an unassisted goal in the 41st minute to give the Gaels a 1-0 lead, before the end of the half.
 
In the second half, the Gaels came out strong. After several chances, including a shot that hit the crossbar in 49th minute, the tricolour extended the lead. Andrew Martin (Kingston, Ont.) scored an unassisted goal in the 66th minute, allowing Queen's to take a 2-0 lead. Within a minute, Patrick Van Belleghem (Kenora, Ont.) made it 3-0 with a goal of his own.

The Varsity Blues scored in the 74th minute on a shot from Harry Michelis to cut the Gaels lead to 3-1. Briam Jimenez-Lopez (Brampton, Ont.) responded for the tricolour, scoring an unassisted goal in the 87th minute. The Varsity Blues scored in the 90th minute on a shot by Russell Rodrigues. After the stoppage time goal from Toronto, the Gaels finished on top 4-2.
