Gaels blank Ryerson on Thanksgiving Weekend

TORONTO, Ont. (October 8, 2016) - The Gaels (7-3-1) won their first game of the Thanksgiving long weekend 3-0 against the Ryerson Rams (3-8-1) in Toronto.

GAME FLOW
The Gaels offence came alive against the Ryerson Rams, maintaining composure and possession of the ball throughout both halves. Queen's put on plenty of offensive pressure, which resulted in the first goal of the game in the 30th minute for Brittany Almeida (Kingston, Ont.), her team-leading fifth of the season.

In the second half, the tricolour continued their momentum, scoring two more goals. The first goal of the half was scored in the 58th minute by Lidia Bradau (Woodbridge, Ont.) and the final goal of the game was scored by Laura Callender (Ottawa) in the 68th minute. The hard work by the defense and Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) held the game at 3-0 and brought home the Gaels win.
