Gaels Hold On To Defeat Lakers 4-2

North Bay (October 22, 2016) – The Gaels (3-1-1) defeated the Nipissing Lakers (2-3-1) 4-2 Saturday evening in North Bay for their second win of the weekend.
 
GAME FLOW 
Fourteen minutes into the first period, Franseco Vilardi (Kingston Ont. ) opened the scoring for the Gaels. Warren Steele (Willimasburg, Ont.) and Spencer Abraham (Campbellville, Ont.) picked up assists on the play. This gave the Gaels a 1-0 lead at the end of the first.
 
In the second period, the Nipissing Lakers tied the game four minutes into the period. Jacob Conrad picked up a goal, with Steven Deeg assisting on the play. Four minutes later, the Queen's Gaels scored to take a 2-1 lead. Slatter Dogget (Oakville, Ont.) scored for the Gaels, with Ryan Bloom  (Calgary, Alta.) picking up the assist. At the end of the period, Nipissing tied the game. Joel Herbert scored for the Lakers, Chad Thibodeau and Jimmy McDowell picked up the assists.
 
The third period was all Queen's Gaels. In the eleventh minute, Peter Angelopolous (Nobleton, Ont.) scored, Francesco Vilardi  (Kingston, Ont.) assisted on the play. In the last minute, Darcy Greenaway picked up an unassisted goal for the Gaels leading to a 4-2 final.
 
Gaels goaltender Jacob Brennan (Halifax, N.S) made 48 saves throughout the contest.
