KINGSTON, Ont. (September 12, 2015) - The Queen's Gaels (1-1-3) exploded on offence with a 10-0 win over cross-town rivals the RMC Paladins (0-3) at RMC.
Jenny Wolever (Toronto) and
Tara Bartram (Vancouver) each scored a pair of goals to pace the Gaels in the victory.
GAME FLOWComing into the game having scored just four times in four games Queen's got off to a great start in the first half. Wolever got things going for Queen's scoring twice early, her first and second career CIS goals, putting Queen's ahead 2-0.
Laura Callender (Ottawa),
Tianna Lombardo (Calgary) and
Rachel Radu (Ottawa) all tallied next for the Gaels before Bartram closed out the half with a pair of goals of her own to put Queen's in front 7-0 at halftime.
The second half began with more offensive production from Queen's as 2014 CIS All-Canadian
Jessie de Boer (North Vancouver, B.C.) scored her second of the season which was followed by goals from
Brittany Almeida (Kingston, Ont.) and
Claudia Glasspoole (Calgary) to bring the game to a final of 10-0.
Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) got the start for Queen's and
Michaila Frawley (Victoria) saw action for the second half making two saves, while RMC keeper Alexandria Hogg stopped eight of the 18 shots fired her way.
