HAMILTON (February 6, 2015) - The Queen's Gaels (11-8) fell in straight sets 3-0 to the No.1 McMaster Marauders (18-1) with set scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-17 on Friday night in Hamilton.

Markus Trence (Orangeville, Ont.) was the lone bright spot for the Gaels offensively finishing with 16 points and a .400 attacking percentage in a losing effort. Jamie Wright (Kingston, Ont.) was the Gaels primary setter for the match and framed up 24 assists for Queen's. The Marauders finished with four players in double-digits for points with Andrew Richards topping the group at 13.5.

The Gaels offence could not find any momentum on the night other than from Trence. The team combined for 18 kills on the night other than Trence who threw down 15 on his own. 

The Marauders attack was efficient in the opening sets htting above the .500 mark in each. Queen's fell apart in the final set committing six errors and McMaster was able to seal the victory.

Queen's will return to action to close out the season tomorrow at 8pm when they visit the Guelph Gryphons. The Gaels will need a win and for both York and Western to lose at least one match each in order to secure a home playoff game next weekend.
