KINGSTON, Ont. (October 2
nd, 2015) - The No.2 ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees visited the Queen's Gaels on Friday night at the Miklas McCarney Field with the game resulting in a 0-0 draw.
GAME FLOWBoth teams played with high intensity both periods. The first half of the game was all Queen's as they kept the pressure on the ball to keep the Gee-Gees from scoring. The Gaels started off strong in the first hlaf by holding most of the possession but could not find a way to break through Ottawa's defence.
The second half saw the Gee Gees control more of the possession as they pressured the Gaels defence throughout the half. Both teams went back and fourth but could not ultimately break through and score. The Gaels thought they opened up the scoring in the 70th minute off of a scrammble in the 18 yard box but the goal was called back due to a Queen's playing being offside. Overall, the Gaels played a strong match against a top ranked team.
Madison Tyrell (White Rock) made timely saves throughout the game, especially when it came to commanding the ball on the many corner kicks that the Gee Gees had.
