TORONTO (January 10, 2015) - The No.5 women's hockey team suffered their fifth loss on the season after falling 2-1 in overtime versus the Toronto Varsity Blues Saturday night on the road in Toronto.
The Gaels opened the scoring in the middle frame on a goal from
Addi Halladay (North Augusta, Ont.).
Taryn Pilon (Peterborough, Ont.) was credited with the lone assist on Halladay's seventh of the season.
The Varsity Blues knotted the game late in the third on a goal from Taylor Day. Toronto would eventually grab the victory as April Looije deposited the overtime winner on a nice deke to the backhand.
Final shots for the night totalled 35-26 in favour of Queen's.
Caitlyn Lahonen (Sharon, Ont.) started in net for the Gaels, suffering the 24 save loss while Toronto's Nicole Kesteris earned the 34 save victory.
The No.5 Gaels (11-2-3) are back in action Friday night as they are scheduled to return to Toronto to take on the York Lions (7-6-2).
