ST. CATHARINES, Ont. (September 20, 2014) - The Queen's Gaels (3-0) picked up a 24-17 win in men's rugby action against the Brock Badgers (2-2) on Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Gaels started the game off with a dominant scrum to gain early possession. The Badgers responded with an aggressive offensive performance, forcing the Gaels to play defense early in the game. Despite the pressure, the Gaels broke through with

Continuing their momentum, Queen's scored a penalty try under the post putting the score at 12-0. The Badgers were able to squeeze in their first try of the game before the halftime whistle, finishing the first half at 12-5 for the Gaels.
In the second half, the Gaels solidified their lead with another try from Lloyd and one from
Brendan Sloan (Peterborough, Ont.) as well.
David Worsley (Vancouver) was successful on one of the two second half conversions. The Badgers fought back, scoring two tries and a conversion, but could not catch the Gaels, who finished with a 24-17 lead.
The Gaels will be back in action next Sunday when they play the McMaster Marauders. Kick-off is scheduled for 2pm in Hamilton.Â
