POTSDAM, New York (October 5, 2014) - The Gaels suffered an 8-0 loss against Clarkson University in the final game of the preseason.
Pat Megannety led Clarkson offensively as he buried two goals on the afternoon. The Gaels had trouble fending off the Clarkson powerplay as five of the eight goals were scored with the man advantage. Three different Clarkson goaltenders combined for the fifteen save shutout. Chris Clarke (Fall River, N.S.) got the start in goal for Queen's, making 22 saves through two periods work, while Kevin Bailie (Belleville, Ont.) made eight saves in the final frame, allowing one goal against.
The Gaels finished the preseason with a 2-3-1 record.
Queen's will open the 2014-2015 OUA regular season Saturday at home against No.8 McGill. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30pm at the Memorial Centre.
