BOX SCORE TORONTO (January 26, 2014) - After losing the first set 25-21, the Gaels stormed back to upset the No. 7 York Lions on the road Sunday afternoon, 26-24, 30-28, and 25-14.
Brett Hagarty (Aurora, Ont.) highlighted a fantastic afternoon of Gaels volleyball. Brett recorded game-highs in digs with 33, kills with 22, and aces with four.
Katie Hagarty (Aurora, Ont.) was second on the Gaels squad with 10 kills, and also contributed 15 digs.
Shannon Hopkins (North Vancouver) also had a standout game defensively with 20 digs.
The Lions defense was led by Jennifer Black, who picked up a team-high 24 digs. Aleks Arsovic had the most points for York, including a team-high 16 kills.
The Gaels return home on Saturday for a match against McMaster at 1pm before heading to RMC for a 2pm game on Sunday.
