Undefeated No. 10 Rams top Gaels 2-1

| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. (September 21, 2013) - The Gaels fell 2-1 to the No. 10 Ryerson Rams at the West Campus Turf Field, as both teams battled 90 minutes of rain Saturday afternoon.

Alexander Braletic opened the scoring in the 6th minute, giving the Rams an early 1-0 lead.

The Gaels stormed back in the 17th minute, when David Tom (Thunder Bay, Ont.) finished a free-kick from Joe Zupo (Toronto) with a header into the goal, tying the game 1-1.

Ryerson went into halftime up 2-1 after Martin Debrowski chipped Gaels' keeper Dylan Maxwell (Vancouver) from the left wing.

Chris Michael (Ottawa) hit the post as the first half ended, but Rams' goalkeeper Christian Maraldo pulled the ball off the line. As the scoreless second half expired, Michael was foiled again when he came in on a partial break, and Maraldo was there to make another one of his seven saves. Ryerson won the match 2-1.

The Gaels (2-2-1) resume their season play Sunday at 3:15pm when they host the University of Toronto Varsity Blues (1-2-2) at the West Campus Turf Field.
