Cameron McPhaden of cycling has been named the Telus Queen's University Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 17, 2013.
Cameron McPhaden (Montréal) of the cycling team is the Queen's University Male Athlete of the week. The Cycling team is coming off of their third straight University Cup title this past Fall and this week the team took part in the first round of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC) in Philadelphia, PA. McPhaden a second year engineering physics student won every single race he entered this past weekend. On Saturday, with the help of his teammates Drew Steeves and Adam Beaudoin, he won the team time trial in a time of 0:31:06.96. He then went on to win the road race, with a powerful attack in the last climb finishing in a time of 1:09:44. On sunday, he attacked the field in the criterium with over six laps to go and finished with 43 seconds to spare to claim his third victory in a row.
